Great Old School Ski Condo

by Todd G

Great old school Ski Condo on the shuttle route. Everything was as described. Thank you again for your kindness in allowing us a late check out, and we hope to have the opportunity to stay at one of your properties again in the future.

Great Location

The condo location is very conveniently located next to the mountain and the view is great! It's roomy and having 2 king beds and 3 full baths is nice. The Wi-Fi has to be upgraded from a telephone line to coaxial or Fios... it's 2023 and this is a must. The dishwasher is functional but super loud. The hot water goes quickly with a full house and still makes noises... Time to upgrade. Fireplace and main room is very enjoyable.
RESPONSE FROM RENTAL MANAGER: Thank you for staying with us. Just letting you know that the hot water heater has been repaired and is working great! WiFi will be upgraded as soon as the new services are available at this particular area. Glad you loved the location.

The location cannot be beat, nor can the view of Mt. Snow. The unit is in dire need of a renovation. The floors were worn/old/dirty looking and the wallpaper in the bathrooms dated and buckling and starting to peel. Also the hot water heater decides late at night (say 2 a.m.) to start moaning and groaning, so whoever sleeps downstairs will be in for a rude awakening, so don't shower at night!
DUTCH RENTALS RESPONSE: Thank you for the review. We appreciate your feedback. Just want you to know these issues are being remediated. The bathrooms are being freshly painted, and the water heater is fixed. While not the most stylish/updated unit, it is clean and as you say, perfectly located! We have added new mattresses, new furniture in dining/living rooms, and new twin comforters too.

Reviewer Comments:
We had an absolutely wonderful summer vacation at Snow Mountain Village! Dwight and Patty are an incredible team, and took care of every possible detail to ensure that we would have a comfortable and enjoyable stay. From booking the perfect unit, ensuring that all we needed would be available for our family, to the daily "on call" availability, Dwight and Patty took a personal interest in our stay. The townhouse is airy and lovely, well stocked, well maintained and walking distance to Mount Snow. For those mountain lovers out there, the views are magnificent and can be seen from every level. The house is spacious and homey. We loved the pool, which was open all day until 8 pm. Additionally, Dwight and Patty's staff takes their cue from the top! Every request was immediately met and taken care of with their pleasant and capable team. We felt like we were being cared for by family. We can't wait to book our next trip! we highly recommend this 5-star couple for any property they manage. Thank you, Dwight and Patty, for memories we will always treasure!!

Reviewer Comments:
We had a fantastic time at this location. I had read some of the reviews which were negative so I was a little worried, but I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived. While there were some areas that were slightly rough around the edges, the location was fantastic, the beds were comfortable, the heat worked really well, and the kitchen was well appointed - everything you need for a ski weekend away. All in all, for the price you are paying, this is an excellent option that is extremely close to Mount Snow. I definitely plan to re-book this condo.

Can't beat the location, super easy to ferry back and forth to the mountain and drive into town. Upstairs room with 4 twin beds was great for little kids and living room has a nice old fireplace that kicks off great heat and unit has good view of the mountain. Would def go back.

The condo was perfect. We had plenty of room and the living room space was perfect for everyone to be together. We were also excited to have a nice flat screen tv to watch the football games over the weekend. The kitchen had everything we needed and the table fit all eight of us. The view from the condo was amazing! The only improvement I can think of was the beds could use some updating, but overall the condo was great and we will defininetly be back.

Listing description was accurate. Property was as clean as could be. Minor repairs are needed (fireplace grate, shelf in bathroom, updated beds, updated kitchen), but we weren't suffering. Layout was very conducive to privacy for two (or more) families. We were in Vermont and not sure how to recycle. We ended up driving our recyclables out of the mountain. Location was very close to lodge, but there was no pedestrian friendly way to get there, or to the pool. It was very crowded Christmas week. All in all, we had a great vacation and couldn't have made it without the washer and dryer and Shaw's (grocery store).

This is our second time staying at this condo, and we really love it for the convenience. It's walking distance to the slopes but also available to the shuttle. There's plenty of room for a group of people. It's a comfortable place and Dwight makes it so easy to come in and out for a great ski weekend.

This is our 3rd year staying at Dwight's Mt Snow condo. I will agree it's not the fanciest but it sooo convenient! We love love love staying there. If you are looking for a ski bum weekend with no frills this is your place. You are on the mountain in a matter of minutes. The condo is within walking distance if your legs can handle it after a full day of skiing. The entire unit is clean & tidy and there are no wants. Bathrooms are clean, beds are comfortable and unit is HUGE. If you want new & shiny this is not the place for you. Dwight is a pleasure to work with. We have never had any issue. We will be back next year 🙂

Just what we were looking for

This property is just what we were looking for! Nothing fancy, but certainly comfy. While our ski conditions could have been better, we enjoyed our time in the condo in front of the fire. Convenient to the slopes and to downtown. The place was clean and we certainly will return!

Beautiful Mountain view, spacious and private…..

4 out of 5 stars

For easy mountain access , 3 floors each with one bedroom and full bath along with a very warm and spacious living room/dining room and wood burning fireplace this townhouse has everything you'll need for a long weekend of skiing or other outdoor activities in the Southern Green Mountains. The kitchen, while small opens up to the living area and contains all the appliances and utensils that you'll need for your stay. The living area opens to a small outside deck via sliding glass door with unhindered beautiful views of the entire front face of Mount Snow...... While dated, especially the shag carpeting throughout and the old box T.V.'s the rooms were spacious, the bathrooms fine (and private) and the beds okay...... All in all, with easy mountain access and for price the place was great and I'd certainly go back again. Dwight who oversees the unit is also very accessible , helpful and friendly..... I give the place 4 stars above though I'd give it 3.5 if possible because the place could use some gradual updating but then again we were their to ski and for the price and location, it could not easily have been beaten.

Great stay

My friends and I took a weekend trip to Vermont and had a blast. We arrived to the mountain late Friday night... We all were shockingly surprised by the size of the unit and close proximity to the mountain. When you first walk in the door there is a room with a washer and dryer (we didn't use it, but great to know its there... To left was a bedroom with private bathroom and ample closest space... The next flight up had a bedroom, kitchen, and living area (with fireplace and a balcony with great views of the mountain)... To our surprise there was another flight of stairs which had a room with four beds... The unit had paper towels, toilet paper, kitchen utensils, linens, etc... Overall it was a great experience... Wish we stayed longer... Lastly, Dwight was great to work with! One of our friends left a watch and he mailed it back to her! Can't wait to return next winter

a great weekend getaway spot!

Property was great and exactly what we expected. Large living room to hang out and bedrooms on separate floors for privacy. It's not the most updated unit, but it had all the essentials and is very close to Mt. Snow. You could see people on the slopes from the balcony. Dwight does a great job keeping the place clean and neat. Would stay here again!

Good location, adequate otherwise

3 out of 5 stars

I will simply add to the reviews below. The location, shuttle service and views of the mountain are great! 3 full baths was a definite plus for our group of 8 adults, and the hot water never seemed to run out. The rooms are a good size with the exception of the kitchen which is tiny. There were plenty of dishes, but a poor selection of pots and pans. All the appliances and the heat worked properly. Our biggest issue was the cable TV. We arrived on New Year's Day with our college football fans looking forward to watching the two biggest games of the season, only to discover that there was no ESPN. To say that there was only basic cable is an understatement. The instructions left for the internet were for a different unit. We figured it out on our own, but it's not high-speed so there was no way to stream the games. Although paper products, hand soap and dishwasher detergent were included, they were meager - 1/2 a roll of TP in several bathrooms, watered down hand soap and enough dishwasher detergent to run only 2 loads.
We paid a lot since it was a holiday weekend. I won't make the mistake of booking late again. In the end, we had a great weekend with family and friends since that's really what it's all about.

Well worth the money!

Based on previous reviews that we read, we were well prepared for our stay. This is by far not the most up to date luxurious condo that Mt. Snow has to offer, but it was perfect for our needs. When we arrived at the condo we were surprised at how much room there really was, how clean it was and how big the rooms were. The condo was nicely laid out with one bedroom, full bathroom and laundry room on the lower floor, the main floor had kitchen, dining area, full bathroom, bedroom, and livingroom and the top floor and a huge bedroom and full bathroom. The description of this place definitly doesn't do it justice. The carpets are worn and old, the sofa and sofa bed are both old and broken, a chair is broken and the fireplace door was broken, but that didn't stop us from having a good time. Based upon some of the other reviews we packed extras that we thought we would need: tools, paper products, cleaning products and large pots because we were traveling with a large group of people. The kitchen has lots of dishes, utensils, cups, cooking utensils, pots and pans. The stove is small and electric. The knobs were a challenge because they weren't set right, but once you figure it out then it's ok. We used the pool both nights of our stay. The downside was it is small and closed at 8pm. The shuttle to the mountain was fantastic. It was a short ride over, and made the trip so easy because you didn't have to drive. Overall, we had a great time, we were very pleased with the condo and would definitly go back again next year. The whole Home Away process was very easy, and so was dealing with Dwight. We got all the information we needed a few days before the trip.

Needs Substantial TLC

by

2 out of 5 stars

I will start with the pros: the location is perfect. We had four young children with us, either using the ski school or babysitting. The shuttle was super easy and this was much better than a ski in/ ski out. In addition, with three bedrooms and three full baths, there was plenty of room for 4 adults and 4 children. Finally, the owner was pleasant and easy to deal with. However, the pros could not make up for the cons. On our first night we noticed that the back door did not close all the way, meaning we could not lock it. It looked like someone tried to fix a screw, leaving it sticking out so much that the door wouldn't close. We had to purchase a screw driver to remove the screw just for security purposes! In addition, we tried to run a laundry, however within 5 minutes, the washer began smoking and stopped working. The last big issue was the heat - the bottom floor (and third bedroom) had no heat on our last day/night. No matter what we did to the thermostat, it would not get warm. Thus, our three bedroom condo quickly became 2. There were also a number of little issues, such as the towel rack falling off if the wall and the DVD player not working (we tried several DVDs). Finally, be aware that the king beds are actually 2 twins pushed together, and you should bring your own towels. Towels are provided, but for the six people, we were only given 4 full size towels and 2 hand towels. Overall, it was not worth the price we paid.

80s House

by Lindsay Taylor

01/30/2014

3 out of 5 stars

We affectionately called this the "80s house". We had a group of five of us staying at here for a weekend. For us, it was a clean place to sleep. We had plenty of room, heat worked great and plenty of hot water. However, the furniture needs updating. The couch and chairs were pretty broken but still usable. We found that lights were missing light bulbs or didn't work but we were able to have enough light from a few lamps. The beds are all "king size". They are two twins pushed together to create a king bed.

Overall, it was a great location, easy shuttle bus ride to the mountain. Walkable as well, one night we missed the last bus and had to walk from the lodge back to the house (not far at all). If you're just looking for a place to sleep that is close to the mountain, this house will work.

Generally good, some pros and cons

by Susan Levy

12/28/2013

3 out of 5 stars

Our family of seven and a baby spent four days at the condo. There was plenty of space for everyone around the dining room table, in the living room area, and in the bedrooms, even with the king sized beds. The three full baths are a plus. Condo was basically clean and bathrooms were in good shape. Location is great, with the shuttle bus running practically outside your door, or a quick drive down to the base area is possible. The views of the mountain outside the windows are wonderful. Sunny exposure is nice as well. Kitchen is small and moderately stocked with cooking gear, and there are plenty of plates and glasses. We brought most of our own previously cooked food, which worked out best for us. Pool, sauna, and hot tub facilities are across the street and were fine.
For the cons...sofa and chair cushions are a bit dirty and very worn, to the point of being uncomfortable. Some of the beds were uncomfortable as well. Carpeting is soiled and worn in many places. Stove knobs were not working properly so we had to use pliers to turn oven on and off. Kitchen sink faucet drips terribly. There are three TVs, but none are flat screen. Although things were generally clean, moving the chairs uncovered dirt, crumbs, and an empty beer can. The condo needs some attention to its amenities.
Dwight was very nice to deal with, but I'm not sure how much attention he's giving this enterprise. I had to initiate much of the communications to make sure we had what we needed and to get the pass code to get into the condo.
In summary, it was a reasonable value but people should realize what you are getting for the money.

Very comfortable

by

12/26/2012

4 out of 5 stars

This condo was very large and comfortable for my family's stay in Vermont. The rooms are huge, and everything was as-described in the profile. The furnishings are a little worn, but it didn't diminish our enjoyment. The front windows have a mountain view and we loved watching the fireworks from the comfort of the living room with a fire in the fireplace.

The shuttle bus is VERY convenient, and made the days skiing a breeze - no need to fight for parking spaces. The stop is a short walk from the condo, and it only takes about 5 minutes to get to Mount Snow.

Also, Dwight was very nice to deal with, and made everything very easy. We will look to stay here again if we return to Mt. Snow.
